Homeschool Classes

The Rinks offer a variety of skating lessons for all ages and ability levels, as well as specialty programs are part of our Learn to Skate program. See below for more information.

Group classes are the fastest and safest way to learn and enjoy any sport or recreational activity. Skating classes at Anaheim ICE include the following benefits:

Anaheim ICE has group classes for all ages and abilities:

Ages 3-5

  • Tot classes
  • Parent & Me classes

Ages 6-15

  • Youth classes
  • Elite classes
  • Hockey Skills classes
  • Homeschool classes
  • Off-ice classes

Ages 16 & Up

  • Adult Classes

An 8-week series of skating classes include the following:

  • One half-hour lesson per week
  • Public Session admission on the day of your class
  • Skate rental on the day of your class
  • Five additional public skating passes (valid only during 8-week session)
  • Practice recommendation on the 5th class
  • Progress report on the 7th class
  • Certificate of Completion on the 8th class
  • Bring a Guest class on the 8th class

Homeschool Class Curriculum (6-15 years)

Homeschool Basic 1-2 (Prerequisite – none)

  • Dip while moving (2 seconds)
  • Forward swizzles (6 in a row)
  • Backward wiggles
  • Beginning snowplow stop, in place (right and left)
  • Scooter pushes (right and left)
  • Forward one-foot glides (right and left, 2 seconds)
  • Backward swizzles (6 in a row)
  • Moving forward snowplow stop (right and left)

Homeschool Basic 3-4 (Prerequisite – Homeschool Basic 1-2)

  • Beginning forward stroking
  • Forward half swizzle pumps on a circle (clockwise and counterclockwise, 6 in a row)
  • Moving forward to backward two-foot turns on a circle (clockwise and counterclockwise)
  • Forward pivots (clockwise and counterclockwise)
  • Forward outside edge on a circle from pumps (right and left, 3 seconds)
  • Forward crossovers (clockwise and counterclockwise)
  • Backward half swizzle pumps on a circle (clockwise and counterclockwise)
  • Backward one-foot glides (right and left, 2 seconds)
